The Temple is on the west coast of India.It is about 5 kms
from Vengurle town,on the vengule-panaji road,near Muth in
Mochemad.It is next to the pictures beach where you an realy see the dark blue sea and very very white sand.I will add a picture
but you have to visit to experience it.
History
There are lot of stories about this Jagrut Devstan
as to how this temple was build.
Some say that this Deity was brought from Goa at the time of Portugees influx in Goa
and a temple was created.
Some say that this Murthy was found in the "KEGADI" of the nala which flows around
to meet the sea.i.e.in the outflow of the nala.Hence the name "KEGADI DEVI" which in time turned to be called as
"kepadevi".
some say it was chiped on one side i.e. kaped,hence the name "KEPADEVI".
Whatever
you say the murthy is still very sharp and buitiful inspite of so years of pujas and washes.
Though our deity is "kuldevta"for
all the GIRAPs it is worshiped by all.
